MOVIE REVIEW FOR :"GHOST RIDER"

MOVIE REVIEW FOR:"GHOST RIDER"

Starring: Nicolas Cage, Wes Bentley, Eva Mendes, Matthew Long, Peter Fonda
Directed by: Mark Steven Johnson
Produced by: David S. Goyer, Stan Lee, Gary Foster

I knew this piece of shit would be ,well, a piece of shit.

And I was right

HOWEVER.

The scenes with the Rider are PHENOMENAL.And ,if this is what they can do with this first movie, then , with a proper COMIC BOOK STORY , they will have a good comic book based franchise.

This is a classic "intro movie" that is a seemingly real factor in the comic book franchise business. They really should take off a dollar or two for these kind of movies. These movies are like the dollar promo version of comics that they put out, which are found at comic book shops.

These comics are a intro to the comic series, which is a thing that these comic based movies are.
This was a very good starter movie for the "Ghost Rider" franchise, and the less they use of Nick Cage, the better.

Hollywood, who obviously didn't know what comics were (and it constantly shows) cannot seem to make the transition from a live actor based movie to a superhero (almost always CGI generated) movie, and concentrate on what sells comics.

THE FUCKING COMIC BOOK HERO ON WHICH THE FUCKING COMIC BOOK IS BASED!

Same applies for the movie.More hero, less actor.

I know Cage can't act worth shit ("Adaption"was just Cage on crack), but I like him because he's a comic book geek like myself. He loves comics, even naming his child after Kal El (people who read and know comics know who this is),so I give him a pass on this flick.

"Ghost Rider" is a good starter movie, and the CGI is fucking incredible.I waited thirty five years to see this shit, and it was well worth the 6 bucks I shelled out for the movie, even knowing that it would suck.(However, the Galleria 6 is a very good theatre, with a screening room feel to the theatres.)

It sucked as a comic book movie, but as a franchise starter, it passes. The "Ghost Rider" on screen just looks fantastic.

Another surprise is Peter Fonda as the Devil, or something like him. That motherfucker looked EXCELLENT,and he didn't have any make up on, except when they did the brief CGI conversions into the demon he really was.

I know ,I know that Fonda is in the movie as a direct pop reference to his most well known film role almost forty years ago.

But that is one creepy ass, TOTALLY EVIL looking man/demon.He was great, and I hope he is in the sequel.

The movie is shot very well, and each scene does convey a comic "splash page" in most of the shots.I think this was due to the CGI used in this movie, which has to be the state of the art, at this point in the CGI evolution.

But all this shit comes together like Ex Lax and White Castle hamburgers. The acting, the plot, the whole movie just resulted in almost two hours of "when will they show The Rider again".

Go see the movie to see The Rider.

If you want to waste six bucks on just watching a animated character in a fucked up movie.
